Is Leaving Work On Time Now a Crime?
I’m a graphic designer at a tiny startup—just five of us in a cramped office. My hours are 9 to 6, and I make about $1800 a month. I always finish my tasks on time, and honestly, I don’t get paid for overtime, so I usually leave right at 6.
But lately, my boss has been acting like I’m committing some kind of offense by not staying late. She barely responds when I say goodbye, and last week, she told me my work isn’t up to par—even though I met every deadline. She asked me to redo a project, hinting I should stay late, but I still managed to finish during regular hours.
Now, she’s giving me the cold shoulder, and I’m left wondering—am I missing something? Is it wrong to leave work on time if you’re getting everything done? I’m honestly stressed and could use some advice. What would you do in my shoes? 😕
