Timothy Warren+FollowWhy Do Some Swimmers Pull More Water? 💪As a state-level competitor in swimming, I’ve noticed something wild: some folks just move more water than others, no matter their build or strength. I’ve been outswam in the 50 free by guys way leaner and less bulky than me. Technique’s the obvious answer, but what’s the secret sauce? Everyone’s pull phase looks nearly identical, yet some swimmers just glide faster. What are they doing to grip the water like that? Plz drop your insights or experiences below! #Swimming #SwimTips #WaterPull #SwimmingCompetitions 132Share
Stacey Hart+FollowAnyone ever try switching from 3-stroke to 2-stroke breathing? 🧐🏊Noticed something interesting lately - all top swimmers breathe every 2 strokes in freestyle, yet we're still teaching kids the every-3 pattern 🤔 As someone who's about to start coaching, I'm questioning this tradition. Is bilateral breathing outdated for competitive swimming? Considering making the switch myself to practice what I preach. Has anyone transitioned from 3 to 2? #Swimming #SwimmingBreathingTechniques #SwimStyle #SwimmerLife 40Share

Must cross Bondi Icebergs off my bucket list someday — it looks incredible. Donald Wilson+FollowWhy don’t all swimmers have a hot body? Why don’t all swimmers have that chiseled physique? While swimming is an amazing full-body workout, it doesn't always lead to a bodybuilder physique. when I’m at the pool, most of the swimmers I see don’t exactly have what you’d call ‘great bodies’ 🤔🤔😳. #Swimming #Workout #FitnessJourney #BodyPositivity154Share
Timothy Warren+Follow‼️💡Swimming lane etiquette more people should knowMany lap swimmers—new and experienced—can benefit from the occasional refresher on lane etiquette. Here are a few basics that help keep everyone safe and swimming smoothly—from a former collegiate swimmer who now swims regularly at the Y: 🏊 Two swimmers in one lane? Split the lane and swim straight. 🏊 More than two? Circle swim, keeping to the right side. 🏊 Try not to follow too closely. If you're right on someone’s feet, consider passing or giving a little more space. 🏊 If someone is gaining on you, it’s courteous to let them pass at the wall. Generally, the faster swimmer has the right of way. 🏊 Taking a break? Try to rest at the far right or left corner of the wall so others can turn safely. 🏊 Finished with your set? Consider exiting the lane so others can continue uninterrupted. 🏊 Have a lane to yourself? If someone is waiting, offering to split is always appreciated. Ultimately, it comes down to being respectful, communicating when needed, and staying aware of others. A little courtesy goes a long way in a shared pool 😊 #Swimming #LapSwim #PoolEtiquette #SwimTips #SwimmingCommunity70Share
Donald Wilson+FollowRecurring ear infections from swimming 😮💨😮💨 any advice??Every time I swim, I end up with water trapped in my left ear, which often leads to an infection. 😞This summer alone, I’ve had to deal with it four times, and honestly, the $30 copays are starting to add up. I’ve tried all kinds of earplugs and swim caps, but nothing seems to help. It might be due to the shape of my eardrum. Has anyone found a reliable solution for this? I’d really appreciate any tips or products that have worked for you!! Thanks in advance 🙏🙏 #Swimming #EarInfections #WaterInEar #SwimmerHealth #SwimmersEar #EarProblems 10Share
Stacey Hart+FollowWhy do guys always think they can beat female swimmers? As a female swimmer, does anyone else deal with this? I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard some guy—who doesn’t even swim regularly—say he could beat me in a race just because I’m a woman. It’s always the same: a casual comment, a bit of smugness, and then surprise when they actually get in the pool and realize… swimming is a skill, not just ego and muscle. And yes, it’s a little satisfying to quietly prove them wrong, but also a bit frustrating that this mindset still exists. Is this something other women in the sport experience too? Or to the guys who think this way—what exactly is going through your head? #Swimming #WomenInSports #Sports #RespectTheSport #FemalePlayers 2636Share
Donald Wilson+FollowJust a reminder this place exists—paid for by a voluntary tax increaseThis is what taxes should be for: public spaces, health, and joy. Not endless lawsuits or billionaire parades. Every time I swim here, I’m grateful that at least some of my taxes go to something the community can actually use. #Community #PublicSpaces #PublicPool #Swimming17884Share
Stacey Hart+FollowFinding the perfect racing swimsuit🩱🩱✨Just got back into swimming and needed a new suit! Found someone with a similar body type sharing their experience. So I’m posting it here in case it helps someone. measurements: Height: 5’3” Weight: 115 lbs Bust: 28"/32" Waist: 26" Hips: 36" 🏊Tried a few sizes and here's what I found: Size 30 is comfy but traps water, Size 28 is perfect with slight compression, and Size 26 reduces drag but is a bit tight. I swim 2-3 times a week, so comfort is key! Hope this helps anyone with similar measurements. #RacingSwimsuit #SwimsuitSizing #TYR #Jolyn #NikeSwim #Swimwear #Swimming 50Share
