Small Victories: Brushing My Teeth and Embracing Self-Care
God, I am so proud of myself today. I took my medication, brushed my hair, took a shower, and for the first time in weeks, I brushed my teeth. It might sound small, but after days of telling myself I needed to do it, I finally did. That fresh feeling is a reminder that I can build new habits, even when depression makes it hard.
Taking care of myself, being honest about my emotions, and not letting others control me feels like a huge step. Even with setbacks, like my shoulder injury, I’m still moving forward.
