Am I Overreacting to This Pool Fill-In? 😓

With large pieces of concrete just dumped into the pool, this man is now seeking some advice and feedback here on this pool fill-in project🤔 He just doesn't like how it felt like the pool was just being used as a giant trash pit...🗑️😵 Plus, there were no layers of fill with compaction in between, which seems pretty crucial. Another concern is that it looks like not enough was cleared from the sides of the pool shell, potentially messing up the yard grading later. Naturally, they stopped the project, but the contractor is telling them they're being overly critical 😡. Did I really just DIY my whole kitchen makeover??

So, here’s what I did—completely gutted my kitchen. Yep, you read that right. Bought unfinished wooden cabinets, and spray-painted them myself. For the countertop, I went with butcher block and cut it myself—then added the protective layer (surprisingly didn’t mess it up). The backsplash? Tile—did it myself too! 😅 Currently about 90% finished, just need to hang a couple of lights over the counter and finish a few details. It’s been tough but totally worth it. DIY home reno with two kids? This is pure chaos 😵‍💫

From closing in January to now, we’ve been in full DIY survival mode—two working parents, two kids, and zero free time. First-time experiences? Too many. Painting, wallpaper, limewash (5 coats!), archway makeovers, wood molding—you name it, we tried it. Lessons learned: ✅ Uneven walls + molding = disaster (ask my broken wood strips). ✅ Skip the paint sprayer. Prep is a pain, breathing sucks, and it clogs constantly. ✅ Limewash is gorgeous but exhausting. ✅ Drawer pulls & lights? Paint them. Small changes, big impact. ✅ Foam molding is a lifesaver.
