I worked at a marketing firm in Chicago for three years, always giving my all, even when the workload doubled and the pay stayed the same. Every time I asked for a raise, I was told the budget was tight and there just wasn't enough money. I felt stuck, exhausted, and honestly, pretty undervalued.
