Researchers at Kyoto University discovered dogs can judge human competence by watching people try to open treat containers. Dogs focused more on the successful person, showing they notice skill differences. š Female dogs did this best, possibly thanks to their higher trainability and attention. Umm.. the female dogs were better because females are better at discerning the competence of a provider and are typically more compelled towards the superior provider.

I mean, I believe it. I've had male and female dogs and the males seemed more apathetic and nonchalant compared to the females. And the females were smarter, more protective, easier and quicker to train than the males were.

Sasscrotch!
I'm not as dexterous as I used to be, but my cat still expects me to open cans, doors, bags of kibble, etc. Dogs and cats will take what they can get!
