After 863 long days of unemployment, I finally landed a job defending pension rights for people. The pay is decent, the hours are chill, and it’s just a mile and a half from my apartment. I even get Wednesdays off! For the first time in years, I thought things were finally looking up. But now, I’m struggling with unexpected workplace drama. Some coworkers seem friendly, but there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes gossip and subtle competition. I feel anxious every day, worried I’ll say or do the wrong thing. After living paycheck to paycheck for so long, I just want some peace and stability. Has anyone else been through this? How do you handle office politics and keep your sanity?
