Lately, I’ve been thinking about whether I’d ever get a tracker for my elementary-aged child. On one hand, the idea of always knowing where my child is brings a sense of comfort—especially with how unpredictable the world can feel. But I also wonder if it might make my child feel like I don’t trust them, or if it could take away from their sense of independence. I remember walking to school on my own as a kid, feeling so grown up and free. Now, as a parent, I’m torn between wanting to give my child that same freedom and wanting to keep them safe.
