Facing the Unthinkable: My Toddler’s First Active Shooter Drill

Today, my heart broke a little as my three-year-old came home and told me about their first active shooter drill at preschool. I never imagined that preparing for such a terrifying scenario would be part of my child’s early education. It’s hard to put into words the mix of sadness, fear, and frustration I feel knowing this is our reality. As a parent, all I want is to keep my little one safe and let them enjoy their innocence.
