did i just unlock the secret to epic dahlia blooms this summer?

This morning, I spotted my very first dahlia of the season and nearly did a happy dance in the yard. It’s wild how a single flower can make all those early spring chores feel totally worth it. I started these dahlias from tubers I saved last year, tucking them into loose, compost-rich soil as soon as the frost was gone. Watering just enough (but not too much!) and giving them plenty of sun really paid off. Watching those buds swell, I kept pinching off the first few to encourage bushier growth. Now, seeing this bloom, I feel like a proud plant parent.
