why did i think plastic sheets would save my backyard project?

Thought I could outsmart the mess by tossing some plastic sheets down before hauling in gravel for my new garden path. I figured, no dirt mixing with the rocks, no problem. Fast forward to the first rain, and those sheets turned into a slip-and-slide, with mud pooling on top. My boots nearly got stuck, and the gravel kept shifting everywhere. Turns out, landscape fabric is the real hero here. It lets water drain and keeps the dirt where it belongs. Swapping out the plastic for fabric made everything so much easier. Now, my garden path looks neat, and I’m not fighting mud every time I walk outside.
