why did my plant cutting just sit there for weeks—was i doing it wrong?

I snipped a stem from my favorite pothos, dreaming of a whole jungle. I stuck it in a glass of water and waited. And waited. Days turned into weeks. Nothing happened. I started doubting myself. Was I supposed to use soil instead? But then, I noticed tiny white bumps—roots! Turns out, patience is everything. Water helps you watch the magic happen, but you gotta change it every few days to keep things fresh. Once the roots get a couple inches long, that’s when I pop it into soil.
