how did my wild backyard turn into a blooming paradise overnight?

My backyard used to be a patchy mess, full of weeds and random rocks. One weekend, I decided to go all in. I started by pulling out every weed I could find, then added a thick layer of mulch to keep them from coming back. I picked up some bright flowers and a couple of tomato plants at the local nursery, sticking to easy-care varieties because I’m not a plant expert. Watering in the early morning made a huge difference. I also learned to group plants with similar sunlight needs together.
