So, I got this wild idea to dig a little pond in my backyard. I wanted a spot where frogs and dragonflies could hang out. I started by picking a sunny spot and clearing out some grass. Digging wasn’t as hard as I thought, but I made sure to keep the edges uneven so it looked more natural. I lined it with a pond liner and tossed in a few smooth rocks. The best part? Watching birds come by for a drink and seeing my first water lily bloom. Adding a couple of water plants kept the water clear, and I learned that a few floating leaves really help with shade.
