Wild, but also heartbreaking: scientists found birds on Lord Howe Island making actual crunching sounds—because their bodies are packed with plastic trash. One bird had 778 pieces inside! That’s up to 20% of their body weight, including bottle caps and even soy sauce fish bottles. You can feel the plastic from the outside.
