Is It Wrong to Quit a Job That Drains You?
Hey, let me run something by you. I’m five months into this part-time tech gig at a big box store, and honestly, it’s draining the life out of me. Maybe it’s the endless closing shifts or the fact that I’m juggling three sections alone, but I just can’t shake the feeling that I’m not cut out for retail—even if I’m decent at customer service.
Now, there’s this ramp agent job at the airport calling my name. Same pay, but with flight perks and the chance to network with pilots—perfect since I’m training to become one. The idea of working around planes, catching sunrises on the tarmac, sounds like a dream compared to my current reality. Am I just romanticizing it, or is it okay to leave a job after only five months if it’s making me miserable?
My friends say I should stick it out, but they’ve never walked in my shoes. Would quitting now really wreck my resume, or is it worth it to chase something that actually excites me? I’d love to hear your thoughts. 🤔✈️
