Manuel Bright+FollowI tried every hog hunting method this year 🐗After trying everything from blinds to baiting this past year, figured I'd share what's been working for me and what hasn't. 1️⃣ Spot and stalk in open areas - good binos are crucial for glassing before moving in 2️⃣ Corn baiting brings multiple hogs where it's legal, but they get wise fast 3️⃣ Stand hunting near wallows requires serious patience but produces consistently 4️⃣ Really considering hog dogs after seeing what my buddy's trained pack can do Seems like each method has its place depending on terrain and situation. What method has worked best for you? #hunting #hoghunting #wildboar #huntingdogs225Share
bushjill+FollowHow I finally dropped a big boar clean 🐗Lost my first big boar because I rushed the shot with my deer rifle and light bullets. That thick shield stopped me cold and taught me everything about hog hunting the hard way. Here's what I learned from that expensive lesson: 1️⃣ Bullet selection matters - those thick shields and heavy bones need tough, expanding bullets like Nosler Partition or Barnes TSX. Save the light deer bullets for deer. 2️⃣ Get close - hogs are surprisingly easy to stalk. I now get within 100 yards instead of trying hero shots at 300. 3️⃣ Build a solid rest - shooting sticks, tripod, pack, anything. Hogs are fidgety and move constantly, so you need rock-solid stability. 4️⃣ Patience pays - wait for the right angle. They'll eventually give you that perfect broadside shot. Now I drop them clean every time. What's your biggest hog hunting lesson learned? #hunting #hoghunting #wildboar #huntinglife2821Share
lolson+FollowHog behavior tips: hunt smarter, not harder 🐗Noticed some patterns while tracking hogs lately—figured I’d share. Sows and piglets usually move in groups (sounders), but those big solo roamers? Might be a mature boar worth tracking. Makes a difference when deciding how to set up. bushjill+FollowIs Wild Pig Meat Actually Good to Eat?Wild pigs are leaner, earthier, and packed with protein—perfect if you're into keto, paleo, or just love wild game. Great for stews or sausage, and way less fatty than farm pork. Anyone else love the flavor or have tips on cooking it right? #hunting #wildgame #huntandcook #cleaneating #wildboar307400Share
