why do parents bring babies to adult resorts?

Last month, we finally splurged on a trip to a beautiful resort in Mexico—just the two of us, hoping for some peace and quiet. We’d saved up for ages, dreaming of lazy mornings by the pool and dinners without interruptions. But as soon as we arrived, we noticed families everywhere, including several with infants and toddlers. There were strollers parked by the swim-up bar, and one evening, a baby started wailing right as we sat down for a romantic dinner. I get that parents want to travel, but if you’re spending thousands on a getaway, wouldn’t it make sense to leave the little ones with a trusted family member or get a sitter? And don’t get me started on the flights. We spent extra to pick our seats, but still ended up next to a family who hadn’t booked seats together and then asked everyone to switch. Why is it so common now for parents to bring babies to places that are clearly designed for adults to relax? I’m all for family vacations, but sometimes I wonder if we’ve forgotten that adults need their own space too. It almost feels like there’s no escape anymore, even when you’re paying a premium for a child-free experience. Anyone else feel like adult spaces are slowly disappearing? #travelgripes #adultonly #vacationdebate #Travel

has airbnb lost its magic for travelers like us?

Last weekend, we finally decided to treat ourselves and booked an Airbnb for a little getaway. We spent hours scrolling through listings, looking for that cozy, unique spot that would make the trip special. But honestly, it felt like every place was either way overpriced or just looked like a bland hotel room with a fancy name. Remember when Airbnb used to be about staying in someone’s quirky home, maybe with a handwritten note and some local snacks? Now, it’s all cleaning fees, endless rules, and checkout chores. We even had to take out the trash and strip the beds before leaving! I can’t help but wonder if anyone else misses the old days when Airbnb felt personal and affordable. Have you noticed this change too, or did we just get unlucky with our pick? It’s starting to feel like the charm is gone, and I’m not sure if it’s worth it anymore. Anyone else feeling the same frustration? #airbnb #travelgripes #vacationstories #Travel

why do people hog seats with luggage at airports?

Every time I fly, I run into the same annoying problem: people using seats for their luggage instead of letting tired travelers sit down. Just last week, after wandering around the terminal for 15 minutes with my aching back, I finally spotted an empty seat—except it was covered with someone’s giant suitcase. I didn’t even bother asking if the seat was free, because honestly, I’m not interested in getting into a debate with a stranger who’s probably just going to make up an excuse anyway. I just squeezed myself onto the edge of the chair, half-perched on their bag, and waited to see what would happen. Usually, the person will either give me a dirty look or start mumbling about their friend or spouse coming back soon. I always say, “No problem, I’ll move when they get here, but my back is killing me right now.” Nine times out of ten, they’ll move their stuff, but sometimes they just glare at me like I’m the rude one! Last week, a woman tried to save two seats with her bags, claiming both were for her husband. I couldn’t help but ask if she had two husbands—she finally moved her bags, but not without a lot of eye-rolling. I just don’t get why people think their luggage deserves a seat more than an actual person. It feels like basic courtesy has gone out the window at airports. Am I the only one who’s had to get creative just to sit down? Has anyone ever actually gotten into a real argument over this? I’d love to hear how others handle these seat-hoggers, because I’m running out of patience—and clever comebacks. #airportlife #travelgripes #seatstealers #Travel
