Now I always tuck pant legs into socks, shirts into pants, hair into a gaiter or hat. My gear’s treated with permethrin, and I layer on DEET before every outing. Tick checks are a must when I get home. It might seem over the top, but Lyme really messed with my life—fatigue, joint pain, memory issues… it’s no joke.
