ADOPTED! Hi, my name is Casey, and I am a male Shih Tzu mix thought to be around 5 years young, and I weigh in at 18 lbs. I was surrendered to the rescue when my previous owner became homeless and had to go to a place where pets were not allowed. Since I lived on the street, I can be a bit unpredictable but since arriving in my foster home I am learning what it is like to be in a safe environment. I can be nippy in new situations so I will need someone kind who is willing to teach me to trust and love. I have made so much progress since being the rescue, but the rescue wants everyone who might consider me to know my issues as they want each adoption to be a success. I am good with other dogs do not mind cats. I am crate trained and doing well with house manners I am looking for a fenced yard in an all-adult home with lots of love to share with me. 🔥🐲Dragon🐉❣️ Please meet Dragon! She is a 3 year old f1b medium bernedoodle! Pup’s Story 📖 We are so grateful to have Dragon in our care! Dragon is a very sweet dog. She might require some patience in the beginning as she gets used to you as she is a natural born protector. She would do well with land or a farm but could also do well in a house with a yard. She has so much love to give. She loves to run around outside and then come back to you and she will jump up on you to get cuddles and attention. And then she’ll get back down and run around again. She was also good with my farm animals but not anything that flies( she’s a little bird hunter) She is potty trained. She is leash trained. She is good around my other dogs. Sweet little Cali was born at a puppy mill in Denver, PA and was surrendered, at just 8 weeks old, to all4pawsrescue because she was “unfit for sale”. She had a heart murmur. Through veterinary care, including multiple cardiology specialists, Cali was diagnosed with a severe PDA (patent ductus arteriosus). This congenital defect is caused by poor breeding practices and occurs when a blood vessel in the heart fails to close after birth, leading to abnormal blood flow between the aorta and pulmonary artery. Left untreated it eventually causes heart failure and death. Surgery to repair this condition costs approximately $7,500. Unscrupulous breeders are causing this serious health issue for puppies like Cali and then abandoning them when they need lifesaving care. The ALITE Fund was pleased to provide a grant to All 4 Paws Rescue to help defray the cost of Cali’s surgery. It took place last week, when Cali was finally big enough to tolerate this very serious and dangerous procedure. The surgery was successful and Cali is expected to make a full recovery! Adoption pending Meet Muffin Muffin is a 5-year-old, 12‑lb Shih Tzu with the softest little soul. She came to us after being surrendered from an Amish breeder when she was no longer wanted or needed, a confusing and heartbreaking start for a dog who deserves so much more. When Muffin first arrived, the world felt very big and very scary. She was shy, timid, and unsure of what to expect. But with time, patience, and kindness, she has been settling in beautifully. Day by day, Muffin is growing more comfortable, showing gentle curiosity, and learning that she is finally safe. Muffin is looking for a quiet, calm, and patient home, one that understands she may need time to fully blossom. A loving family willing to go at her pace will be rewarded with a sweet, loyal companion as she continues to build confidence. He was rushed to the emergency vet where staff immediately began life-saving care to give him a chance he so desperately deserved. We reached a sad, yet satisfying milestone this week as we trapped and neutered cat #20 from a local property, and let us tell you, this guy has seen a lot of action. He has no doubt fathered countless kittens, and his wounds tell the heartbreaking story of feral cat life.😿 On the flipside, we have another family trying desperately to trap a mama cat before she has another litter of kittens, while they try to tame the current litter of kittens, so they don’t end up like their mama. Did you get all of that? It is exhausting just saying it. It is a battle that we are never going to win. Damage control is all we can do and the numbers are not in our favor. We spayed and neutered six cats this week; the average litter of kittens is 4 to 6. The math ain’t mathing. On a happier note, these three kittens are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV negative, and ready to be adopted! Please message us if you’re interested!
