Dinner That Made Me Forget My Problems

Tonight’s dinner felt like a tiny vacation from my own brain. Picture this: a 10oz filet mignon, seared just enough to make you question your life choices up to this point, topped with a cherry pepper reduction that actually made me close my eyes for a second. On the side, asparagus (because I’m pretending to be healthy) and fingerling potatoes that were so buttery I briefly considered proposing to them. And because I’m a grown-up (or at least I play one at dinner), I paired it all with a Makers Mark Manhattan. The kind of drink that makes you feel like you have your life together, even if your laundry says otherwise. Honestly, if every meal tasted like this, I’d never complain about Mondays again.
