Adoption pending Meet Muffin Muffin is a 5-year-old, 12‑lb Shih Tzu with the softest little soul. She came to us after being surrendered from an Amish breeder when she was no longer wanted or needed, a confusing and heartbreaking start for a dog who deserves so much more. When Muffin first arrived, the world felt very big and very scary. She was shy, timid, and unsure of what to expect. But with time, patience, and kindness, she has been settling in beautifully. Day by day, Muffin is growing more comfortable, showing gentle curiosity, and learning that she is finally safe. Muffin is looking for a quiet, calm, and patient home, one that understands she may need time to fully blossom. A loving family willing to go at her pace will be rewarded with a sweet, loyal companion as she continues to build confidence. Having a social, friendly dog in the home would be a wonderful bonus, as Muffin would love a canine friend to show her the ropes and help her feel secure. 💔 Help Us Save Squeaks 💔 Squeaks is a fragile 9-week-old poodle puppy who was found lifeless when he was rescued. He was rushed to the emergency vet where staff immediately began life-saving care to give him a chance he so desperately deserved. Right now, Squeaks is still severely anemic and fighting for his life in the ICU. Despite everything he’s already endured, this tiny puppy is holding on — but he may need a blood transfusion and continued critical care to survive. The next few days are crucial. Sweet little Cali was born at a puppy mill in Denver, PA and was surrendered, at just 8 weeks old, to all4pawsrescue because she was “unfit for sale”. She had a heart murmur. Through veterinary care, including multiple cardiology specialists, Cali was diagnosed with a severe PDA (patent ductus arteriosus). This congenital defect is caused by poor breeding practices and occurs when a blood vessel in the heart fails to close after birth, leading to abnormal blood flow between the aorta and pulmonary artery. Left untreated it eventually causes heart failure and death. Surgery to repair this condition costs approximately $7,500. Unscrupulous breeders are causing this serious health issue for puppies like Cali and then abandoning them when they need lifesaving care. The ALITE Fund was pleased to provide a grant to All 4 Paws Rescue to help defray the cost of Cali’s surgery. It took place last week, when Cali was finally big enough to tolerate this very serious and dangerous procedure. We reached a sad, yet satisfying milestone this week as we trapped and neutered cat #20 from a local property, and let us tell you, this guy has seen a lot of action. He has no doubt fathered countless kittens, and his wounds tell the heartbreaking story of feral cat life.😿 On the flipside, we have another family trying desperately to trap a mama cat before she has another litter of kittens, while they try to tame the current litter of kittens, so they don’t end up like their mama. Did you get all of that? It is exhausting just saying it. It is a battle that we are never going to win. Damage control is all we can do and the numbers are not in our favor. We spayed and neutered six cats this week; the average litter of kittens is 4 to 6. The math ain’t mathing. It’s heartbreaking to watch a family surrender their puppy because their new home won’t allow dogs. That’s how Prince came to us. As they walked away, this 9-month-old Sheepadoodle stood there, then softly whined while looking in the direction they left… waiting for them to come back. They didn’t. Meet Chilli is (1.5yr old, male Maltese, 4lbs) This sweet little angel was rescued from a puppy mill last winter. For the first time in his life, he is learning what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for. Chilli has the most gentle and loving personality. He loves people and happily greets everyone he meets. When someone gives him attention, his little face lights up with happiness. He is great with other small dogs and has a very easygoing nature. Chilli rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, and enjoys quiet time close to his people. All Chilli wants now is a forever home where he can feel loved every day. Pretty Mama is a female maltipoo born around 3/2025. She is just under 13 Ibs and so full of joy, she loves everyone and is happy to meet new people. Mama is so much happiness and energy. She does have a heart murmur, a loud one at that but it does not seem to bother her at all, as a matter of fact she was spayed and did well with that as well. She has had a rough life, streets, shelter, short term adoption with someone who was not prepared for long term dog ownership and nothing brings her down. She will need training to calm and someone who can spend lots of time with her.
