he fell asleep on the stairs again

It’s always the same step. Middle of the staircase. Hard edge. No cushion. Kevin could sleep anywhere. And he chooses the one spot where everyone walks. Sprawled out like he owns the place. Snoring, legs in four directions, one ear completely inside out. Leo offered him a blanket last night. Kevin blinked. Then turned around and kept sleeping.
