Teaching Kids About Leadership: Lessons from Kamala vs. Trump

As parents, we often find ourselves navigating tough conversations about leadership and values, especially during high-profile political moments like Kamala vs. Trump. Recently, my daughter asked me why people have such strong opinions about leaders. It sparked a meaningful discussion about what true leadership means—integrity, empathy, and standing up for what you believe in. We talked about how every leader, regardless of their style, teaches us something about the world and ourselves. These moments remind me that our children are always watching and learning from how we respond. How do you talk to your kids about leadership and differences in opinion? Discovering Your Values Through a Powerful Exercise 💭

Reflect on life’s big questions with this eye-opening exercise. 🌟 Have you ever wondered what truly matters in your life? I stumbled upon a transformative exercise from Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People—a book I highly recommend (seriously, if you haven’t read it, check it out or at least the spark notes!). Here’s the gist: imagine attending your own funeral. Picture the people who matter most to you—family, friends, coworkers—sharing their thoughts. What do you want them to say about you? When I did this, I realized I wanted to be remembered as loving, supportive, inspirational, and hard-working, someone who brought hope and helped others in my community and beyond. This exercise led me to create a Personal Mission Statement—a list of values I strive to embody daily. I read it often to stay focused on what’s truly important and avoid distractions. It’s a game-changer. Oh, and here’s a cool phrase I’ve adopted: Memento Mori (Latin for “Remember Death”). It might sound intense, but it makes me reflect on how I’m spending my time. If these next 15 minutes were my last, would I be okay with it? (Writing this post? Totally fine. 😄) What’s your take on this? Have you tried anything similar? #PersonalDevelopment #LifeReflection #ValuesMatter #StephenCovey #MementoMori
