Kristy Tallman+Follow🚨 POTENTIAL NEW YEAR’S EVE TERROR ATTACK PLOTTED IN NORTH CAROLINA THWARTED 🚨 Federal authorities say they disrupted a planned New Year’s Eve terrorist attack in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area. An 18-year-old man from Mint Hill, NC, identified as Christian Sturdivant, was arrested and charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization after a weekslong FBI investigation. Authorities allege he was inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS) and planned an attack with knives and hammers against a grocery store and fast-food restaurant on Dec. 31, 2025. FBI and law enforcement partners uncovered handwritten attack plans, weapons, and extremist communications and took action before anyone was harmed.
