DIY Hot Cheetos at Home: Spicy Snack Hack
Mix 2 cups flour, 4 tsp cornmeal, 1 tsp salt, and 1/8 tsp garlic powder in a bowl. If you want a lighter crunch, swap cornmeal for cornstarch.
Add 8 tbsp cubed butter and blend until crumbly. Slowly stir in up to 1/2 cup cold water until a soft dough forms—don’t overdo it or the dough gets sticky.
Pulse 1 cup shredded cheddar in a food processor, then mix it into the dough. Wrap and chill for 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll dough into 2-inch pieces, place on a parchment-lined sheet, and bake 15-20 minutes until browned.
For the spicy kick, mix paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon pepper, sugar, and salt. Toss warm cheetos with this and 1/3 cup powdered cheese. If you’re in a rush, just shake the seasoning into a bag of store-bought cheetos!
