Surviving the unthinkable

I never imagined I'd fear the person I loved. During an intimate moment, my boyfriend choked me until I passed out. When I came to, he was more concerned with his satisfaction than my wellbeing. It's taken immense strength to share my story, but it's vital. No one should feel powerless or silenced by their trauma. Speaking up is a step towards healing and a reminder that abuse is never okay.
