Choosing the perfect SFH involves balancing wants and needs. Here's what I look for!

When it comes to single-family homes, everyone has their own checklist. Here are some of my personal preferences—and deal-breakers—that might help you in your home search. I'll pass on homes with a dark history, like those involved in suicides or murders. Living near a busy road or highway can be noisy, and I prefer not to face a long road directly. High-voltage towers and certain design styles, like "Love Cola" areas, aren't my cup of tea either. Proximity to landfills, shelters, or cemeteries is also off the table. Lots that are significantly smaller than average in the area? Nope. However, some flaws are negotiable. For instance, I'm okay with homes that need a permit for additions or have less-than-ideal lot shapes. I can also live with some noise or higher insurance costs for certain risks. There are also things I don't mind, like a smaller living space with a larger lot, or a backyard pool—your mileage may vary! What's your take on these? Would you consider any of these factors in your home search? #HomeBuyingTips #SingleFamilyHome #BayAreaRealEstate #HomePreferences #SmartMoves
