When Another Parent Takes Your Child’s Phone at a Sleepover

Last weekend, my daughter went to her friend’s house for a sleepover. The next morning, she told me her friend’s mom collected everyone’s phones before bed. At first, I was surprised—my daughter’s never had her phone taken away at someone else’s house before. But after thinking about it, I realized the mom probably just wanted the kids to connect and get a good night’s sleep. Still, I couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy.
