The Spots Never Fade Fast Enough
Every night, I stand in front of the mirror, dabbing another layer of cream onto the same stubborn spots. I read the reviews, memorized the ingredients—kojic acid, vitamin C, niacinamide—like they were a secret code to a better version of me.
But the spots linger. Some days, I convince myself they’re lighter. Other days, I can’t look at my reflection without feeling like I failed at something basic. I know it’s just skin, but it never feels that simple.
I keep hoping for the day I’ll stop noticing. But for now, I count the weeks, the bottles, the promises. The mirror never says thank you.
