In 2005, an Officer Saved Him From the Golden Gate Bridge. A Decade Later, They Met Again.

I came across these photos and the story behind them is just incredibly powerful. Back in 2005, Kevin Berthia went to the Golden Gate Bridge, planning to end his life. He was there, right on the edge, when Officer Kevin Briggs started talking to him. They talked for 92 minutes, right there on the bridge. And in the end, Officer Briggs convinced Kevin to step back. It's truly amazing to think about the impact those minutes had. But what really gets me is the second picture. Ten years later, they met again, at the very same bridge. This time, they're both smiling, laughing even, standing side-by-side. Kevin is even wearing a "Be The Voice #StopSuicide" shirt. It's such a powerful full-circle moment. #GoldenGateBridge #Hope #MentalHealth #Kindness #Inspiration #RealLifeHeroes #SuicidePrevention #SecondChances #MovingStories

The Golden Rule — Convict Style

In prison, we live by a set of rules that go back so far nobody even knows who made them. You’ll hear guys say, “I didn’t make the rules, but we gotta follow them.” Out here, people talk about the Golden Rule — “Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you.” Inside, that rule still applies — but it’s got teeth. Everybody knows: snitches and sex offenders don’t last long. The penalty for either is final. But here’s what most people don’t know — if you falsely accuse someone of being one without proof (paperwork), then you wear that jacket. And your exit usually comes with a LifeFlight ride to the ER — if you’re lucky. So when you’re out here throwing wild accusations at politicians, public figures, or anyone else, remember — in the convict’s world, claims come with consequences. Better have the paperwork. Andrew Goltz writes raw, unfiltered stories about prison life, addiction recovery, and second chances. A reformed convict with firsthand experience in the federal system, he’s on a mission to expose the truth, break stigma, and change how people see those rebuilding after incarceration. #PrisonReform #ConvictStories #LifeAfterPrison #JusticeSystem #TruthTeller #RealTalk #SecondChances #ReentryMatters #RespectEarned #NewsBreakCommunity

Fresh Out of Prison With Just $2 — One Choice Changed Everything A recently released former inmate found himself at the center of a life-changing moment after missing a scheduled job interview to help at the scene of a serious car accident. With almost no money to his name and trying to rebuild his life, the man came across a vehicle that had flipped over. Instead of walking away or worrying about being late, he immediately stepped in—helping pull a trapped driver to safety and staying at the scene until emergency crews arrived. That decision meant sacrificing his chance to attend the interview, a moment that could have meant stability. But witnesses later said his quick thinking helped prevent further harm and may have saved the victim’s life. First responders confirmed that his presence played a key role in stabilizing the situation before medical teams took over. In the days that followed, word of his actions spread through the community. What started as a missed opportunity turned into widespread support, with local organizations and individuals stepping forward to help. The man ultimately received $50,000 in financial assistance along with three job offers, giving him access to stable employment and a real second chance. The moment marked a powerful turning point in his reentry journey—showing how one act of compassion and responsibility can redefine a future and change how a person is seen. Sometimes, doing the right thing costs you everything in the moment… and gives you everything in return. #SecondChances #RealLifeHero #GoodNews #FaithInHumanity #FreshStart #Redemption #LifeChangingMoment #ViralStory #KindnessMatters

This story still hits hard. After everything Michael Vick went through, T.I. didn’t just check in for show — he genuinely asked how he was doing and if he needed help. When Vick said he needed $50,000 to get back on his feet, T.I. didn’t hesitate… he sent $75,000 instead. That wasn’t charity — it was belief. Belief that people can grow, change, and rebuild when someone gives them a real second chance. Fast forward to today, and Michael Vick has rebuilt his life, career, and reputation, becoming an example of redemption and accountability. Moments like this remind people that one act of generosity, at the right time, can completely change the direction of someone’s life. Not everyone extends grace — but when they do, the impact can last forever. #RedemptionStory #SecondChances #RealSupport #BlackExcellence #PayItForward #Growth #LifeAfterMistakes #Motivation
