Honestly, this stuff keeps me up at night. 536 new complaints filed just last year (Senate Aging Committee) - that's more than one family getting scammed every single day. After some close calls with my own parents, here's what's actually working: 🔔We set up a family code word for emergencies. Sounds silly, but it works! Real crises can wait 5 minutes to verify. 🔔Had to explain multiple times: The IRS will NEVER call threatening arrest. Neither will Social Security. Period. 🔔Downloaded Truecaller on their phones and walked them through those fake "your computer is infected" pop-ups. 🔔Biggest game-changer: Making it clear there's ZERO shame in getting targeted.
