I've been on SSI since 92 and I was only getting around $400.00 a month and when I got food assistance from SNAP it was a miracle itself and I'm 64 years old have PTSD anxiety and severe depression. I was only able to eat once a day back then. And snap helped me as I wasn't able to hold down a job due to stress and PTSD and my depression. The idea that food is so expensive and I broke my back Snap has been a life saver since I don't drive and have no way to get to the food banks where I live. Now I'll be back to eating peanut butter sandwiches and toast and I butter. I feel like the government wants to dispose of the seniors and those that are just making it month to month. In my 64 years of life I never thought the government would take away food stamps that I rely on to eat two meals a day. I blame both sides of government for not willing to stop taking away from the lower middle class down to those that doesn't make more than 12,000.00 a month or not pay this bill just to try and survive. Sadly that's what it's come down to the Rich getting richer and the poor even more poorer. #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk

#SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk Here is what's important, people. There are many states that have revenue from marijuana sells. And its a lot of money. They can take money from that to put into snap programs. And the states that don't have that, then we need to ban together and help them states. Because it is not like you won't get reimbursed once the government opens back up. Don't let the government win this way. There's going to be riots if something isn't done. Good people are going to break the law so they can feed their families. Break-ins in people homes. The list of bad things keeps going and the worst is still to come. In my state of Missouri, the revenue from recreation, is split three ways and two ways on medical revenue. And the license revenue pays for employees etc... and the amount is posted online. And there is more than enough to do this. We're talking millions of dollar's from marijuana. People have to eat.So im asking our Governor to do the right thing. Take money from the marijuana program and feed Missouri, and help ban together to help out at least one other state to feed their people. Governor what would you think ,Jesus would do.

For many disabled people like myself, our SSDI is not a “quality of life” wage. Without food assistance, I would not make it through the month with any type of HEALTHY foods. I already have to use the resources of food banks to get through each month. Losing benefits, especially during the holiday season, is going to mean that while trump and gop representatives in Congress and the Senate enjoy parties and feasts, we little people will be lucky to have a piece of chicken and rice for our Thanksgiving and possibly Christmas. Because so many people are losing their access to the food assistance food banks have already started rationing since most also rely on the government funding for the food they give to those who are struggling.. Honestly, I would rather struggle through the holidays on unhealthy canned and boxed goods than health insurance becoming unaffordable for EVERYONE on ACA!! My son-in-law just had open heart surgery and found out that he is diabetic too. My daughter was just diagnosed with bone spurs so bad in both feet so bad she can barely walk, POCS and thyroid cancer. So she needs 3-4 surgeries soon. If ACA fees go up by even 30%, they will both not be able to get the health care they desperately need. Because of the open heart surgery my sil is unable to work for about 6 months during the first stage of his rehabilitation. My daughter was working for Disney Epcot and Amazon. Because of her health issues she had to resign both bc of the frequent ambulance to ER trips while she was at her jobs. The children have been covered on Florida kid care, but more funding cuts put their health coverage in jeopardy as well.. My daughter just applied for food assistance and was DENIED, even with all of the documentation from doctors and hospitals because she worked full time in August before all the medical issues became too bad. They have 2 children 3 & 14, and they care for his mom who has dementia and a 48yo #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPT

Working 40hrs a week and receiving SNAP benefits to feed their families shouldn't happen.

I don't care what a person does to make a living whether it's McDonald's or someone in a suit and tie behind a desk. Everyone deserves respect, dignity and a livable wage. When someone working 40hrs a week needs food assistance I blame the employer. A 2 parent home shouldn't need both parents working full time and pay someone to raise our children. We are letting corporations dictate our lives and we are missing out on raising our children with our values. We need to stop demonizing those who work for less pay and start asking ourselves why multimillionaire Companies refuse to pay a livable wage. For those who struggle I hear you and see you. You are important #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk
