Cauliflower, Why Do You Even Exist?!
I cannot stand cauliflower. Like, I get it’s supposed to be a miracle veggie or whatever, but why does it taste like vaguely flavored cardboard?? Every time I see someone swap it for my precious carbs, a little piece of me crumbles, like my lost pizza crust. #RIP
I remember this one time at a friend's dinner party, they were all hyped to serve “cauliflower rice.” Spoiler alert: it was not rice, and 0% satisfying. I don't care if it's low-cal, low-carb, low-whatever, it's also low on taste. I’m sorry, but mashed potatoes need to come from, you know, actual potatoes. Even drenched in cheese and garlic, it still tastes like a betrayal.
And can we talk about the texture? Soggy mush one minute and a sad, tasteless sponge the next. I just don't get it. It’s done nothing but mock me in every dish it invades. All in all, cauliflower, you've sunk many a dish in your time, and for me, redemption is not on the horizon. Anyone else feel me on this one? 🙄
