why does my basil always die, no matter what i do? help!
Every time I bring home a basil plant, I get so excited. I picture endless pesto nights and fresh leaves on my pasta. But somehow, within a week, those green leaves start drooping. I water it, I move it to the sunniest spot, I even talk to it. Still, it wilts like it’s auditioning for a tragedy.
One day, I tried something different. I stopped watering every day and let the soil dry out a bit. I pinched off the top leaves instead of the bottom ones. Suddenly, my basil perked up! It turns out, basil hates soggy roots and loves a little tough love.
Now, my kitchen smells like summer, and I’ve got more basil than I know what to do with. Sometimes, the trick is to stop trying so hard and just let the plant do its thing.
