What makes Miller's The Gleaners a classic?

Miller created this painting in mid-19th century France, a time of rapid expansion of capitalist agriculture and increased privatization of land. Look closely at the gleaners in the close up, contrasted with the stacks of wheat in the distance, and the presence of the overseer on horseback, who seems to be overseeing the gleaners' every move. Miller did not intentionally create dramatic conflicts and contradictions, but only presented an ordinary scene of labor with calm and restrained brushstrokes. But behind this seemingly ordinary picture, we can deeply feel the great social inequality - the deprivation of the peasants' right to live by the privatization of land. That's why the bourgeois critics at that time accused the painting of “inciting the poor to hate the rich”. When art intervenes in reality and reaches such a high level, it is the key to making The Gleaners a classic. #Entertainment t #Painting #Miller #The Gleaners

Monet's Woman with a Parasol

This is an early work by Monet, and the figures in the painting are his wife and son. At the time of this painting, Camille had been diagnosed with cancer. A person close to him was about to die. Monet painted with such a mood, and his inner feelings were intricate. You can see that there are a few clouds on Camille's face being blown by the wind, and it feels as if this fairy is going to go with the wind. Those eyes are full of deep feelings inside. So the charm of a painter lies in the ability to freeze the most beautiful moments of the beloved in your heart, right? I don't know whether Monet was thinking back to the sweet life with his wife or fantasizing about the sourness of his wife's departure when he painted this picture. #Entertainment t #Painting #Monet #Love
