Let me set the scene for you: it’s a peaceful afternoon at our preschool in the heart of the city. The lights are dim, soft lullabies play, and every child is snuggled on their mat—finally, nap time! Suddenly, the door swings open. In walks a parent, totally unannounced, with their child in tow—twenty minutes late! Right in the middle of nap time! My heart jumps. The kids stir, some start crying, and the calm is shattered. I’m left scrambling, frustrated and honestly, a bit angry. Why couldn’t they just let us know? Communication is everything in this job!
