James Allen+FollowWhat Stopped “The Best Team in the World”? 🧐Early 2000s Nets had the hype — led by Jason Kidd, they were fast, unselfish, and stacked with talent. But despite back-to-back Finals appearances, they couldn’t get over the hump. Was it lack of star power compared to juggernauts like the Lakers and Spurs? Or did egos, injuries, and roster limitations hold them back? #NBAHistory #JasonKidd #NewJersey #NetsNation #NBALegends #NBAWhatIf #NBA #Sports 3117Share

Beth Holland+FollowWhen It All Changed For T-Mac In The 2003 PlayoffsTracy McGrady famously said “It feels good to be in the second round” after going up 3-1 on the Pistons in the 2003 playoffs. The rest is history—Orlando lost the next three games, and T-Mac’s postseason fortunes completely flipped. After that quote, he lost 21 of his next 22 games. What happened? Detroit switched rookie Tayshaun Prince onto him. McGrady went from averaging 36.3 PPG on 51.6% shooting in games 1-4 to just 25.7 PPG on 36.1% shooting for the rest of the series. It just shows how quickly things can change in the NBA. That one defensive adjustment altered the course of T-Mac’s playoff legacy.
