wramirez+FollowWhy do hunters keep taxidermy mounts?Always wondered—what's the meaning behind displaying taxidermy animals? Personally, I think if a hunt holds a special memory or feels worth commemorating, I’d want to keep the mount. But I’m also curious how other hunters here see it—what’s your reason? #hunting #HuntingLife #Taxidermy4351Share
bushjill+FollowHow I finally dropped a big boar clean 🐗Lost my first big boar because I rushed the shot with my deer rifle and light bullets. That thick shield stopped me cold and taught me everything about hog hunting the hard way. Here's what I learned from that expensive lesson: 1️⃣ Bullet selection matters - those thick shields and heavy bones need tough, expanding bullets like Nosler Partition or Barnes TSX. Save the light deer bullets for deer. 2️⃣ Get close - hogs are surprisingly easy to stalk. I now get within 100 yards instead of trying hero shots at 300. 3️⃣ Build a solid rest - shooting sticks, tripod, pack, anything. Hogs are fidgety and move constantly, so you need rock-solid stability. 4️⃣ Patience pays - wait for the right angle. They'll eventually give you that perfect broadside shot. Now I drop them clean every time. What's your biggest hog hunting lesson learned? #hunting #hoghunting #wildboar #huntinglife2822Share
lolson+FollowWhat I Do AFTER Setting Up My Trail CamMost people think they're done once the camera's mounted - huge mistake! Here's my post-setup routine that actually gets results: 1️⃣ Test everything twice - Day and night shots, plus walk the detection zone. Don't assume it's working until you see proof. 2️⃣ Kill your scent - Scent-eliminating spray on the camera and wear gloves. Your human smell will spook deer for weeks. 3️⃣ Give them a reason to visit - Scatter some corn or apples nearby (check local laws first!). Position near natural water sources or existing game trails. The testing part saved me from weeks of empty SD cards. Don't skip it! Happy hunting! #hunting #TrailCamTips #WildlifeWatch #HuntingLife215Share
