why is it so hard to find good travel videos now?
I remember when planning a trip meant finding those hidden gem travel videos on YouTube—real people sharing honest reviews, showing you the best spots, and giving you tips you could actually use. Now, every time I search for a country I want to visit, I end up wading through endless videos of people just talking to the camera, showing the same old stock photos, or worse, just repeating what everyone else says. I spent almost an hour last night trying to find a decent review for a trip to Portugal, and all I got was clickbait and people trying to sell me something.
It feels like the good, thoughtful content has been buried under a mountain of junk. Is it just me, or has YouTube become impossible for finding real travel advice? I miss the days when you could actually trust what you were watching. Has anyone found a better way to get honest travel reviews lately? I’m starting to think I need to go back to guidebooks, but even those feel outdated now. It’s frustrating when you’re genuinely trying to plan something special and all you get is fluff.
