Carol Hurley+FollowWhy Does HR Seem to Attract Such Unqualified Individuals?🤔💼Okay, let’s talk about HR. Every time I’ve been employed, the HR team (and I’m not in HR) has been a disaster. It’s like they’re all overconfident idiots with no real skills. When I browse job sites like LinkedIn or Indeed, I see these so-called “professionals” with ridiculous titles like “Culture Connoisseur,” “People Officer,” or “Diversity Enablement Leader.” It’s baffling. How does someone with such a title even get hired? Their posts are just as clueless as their titles suggest. Why does HR seem to attract people who are completely out of touch with reality? Is it the nature of the job, or is there something else going on? #HRProblems #WorkplaceIssues #JobTitles #HiringProcess #OfficeDynamics10Share
Karen Hogan+FollowThe Harsh Reality: 80% of Interviews Are About AtmosphereLet’s face it: interviews are often more about atmosphere than skills. I’ve been in interviews where they didn’t even have a job description, just wanted to chat with the interviewer. So, besides temperament, looks, and age, how else can they judge someone? In another interview, the interviewer admitted their manager was just looking for a certain personality. If you don’t answer questions like “What’s your favorite sports team?” or “What fun things do you like to do?” and impress them with what they like or appreciate, you’re likely out of luck. I get wanting to get along with someone, but if a person is capable and not rude or hot - tempered, I’m not sure what’s the point of being so picky. #JobInterviews #AtmosphereTest #HiringProcess #SkillsVsVibe #EmploymentTips00Share
Liber+FollowDisappointing Candidate Performances in Recent InterviewsI've been interviewing quite a few candidates recently, and I must say, their performances have been quite disappointing. We've all seen numerous posts about how tough the job market and interview process have become. I recently started looking for a new job myself and began paying attention to this section to see what others are experiencing. At the same time, I've been trying to fill several positions at my current company. I'm responsible for the "final interview" in our process and am the hiring manager for these roles. So, the candidates I interview have already passed the ATS screening, phone screening, and first interview. To my surprise, some candidates performed so poorly that they almost seemed to be self - sabotaging. It's quite astonishing considering how much effort they must have put into getting to this stage. #JobInterviews #CandidatePerformance #JobMarket #HiringProcess #Recruitment70Share
