🚨 OHIO FATHER DIES AFTER TRYING TO STOP ALLEGED ASSAULT AT GAS STATION 🚨
What started as a trip to a gas station ended with a father of two losing his life while trying to help someone in danger.
According to investigators, 43-year-old Billy Grooms witnessed an alleged assault involving a woman and her ex-boyfriend at a Hillsboro, Ohio gas station on May 31.
⚠️ Police say the suspect, 22-year-old Javen Meadows, allegedly followed the woman to the gas station, rammed her vehicle, and physically attacked her.
Witnesses say Billy stepped in and told the man to stop.
Moments later, authorities allege Meadows got into a pickup truck and drove toward Grooms.
💔 Billy was struck and dragged by the vehicle, suffering catastrophic injuries. He was airlifted to a hospital and placed on life support.
After several days, his family made the heartbreaking decision to let him go.
The woman involved has since said she believes Billy’s actions saved her life.
Friends and family remember him as the kind of person who never hesitated to help someone in need.
Even in death, Billy continued helping others. His family says he became an organ donor, potentially saving multiple lives.
⚖️ Meadows has been charged with assault and strangulation. Authorities say additional charges may be considered as the investigation continues.
