馃槏Authentic Filipino Style Brunch in SF beyond my expectations

馃Abaca 馃搷2700 Jones St, San Francisco, CA 94133 路 鈻笍We found another amazing brunch spot! The Filipino style food is truly comforting for Asian taste buds. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a hotel and the overall style is absolutely loveable! As soon as you enter, you're greeted with abundant natural light coming from above, creating a cozy dining experience! 路 鈻笍During brunch hours, the crowd is manageable. We went on a weekend and it wasn't too crowded, so no need to wait for seating (we had made a reservation in advance, but walk-ins seemed possible). They also have a bar and bakery, making the menu quite extensive. 路 馃Tikoy Pandan waffle It has mochi inside, which makes it soft and delicious as a dessert! 路 馃Wagyu Tapsilog It has a Korean taste to it, and although it looks small, it's actually quite filling! The combination of meat and scrambled eggs, with a crispy touch, is incredibly satisfying! 路 馃ォTochino Silog The grilled pork belly is amazingly flavorful and substantial. The portion is really generous. I actually quite like their rice, it somehow complements their dishes perfectly. 路 鈻笍Their dishes may not look huge in terms of portion, but they are solid and satisfying. Surprisingly, we couldn't finish our plates 馃槀 It exceeded my expectations! I thought we could even order one more dessert, but apparently, I was being too ambitious 馃槀 #BayAreaFood #BayAreaLiving #WhereToGoInBayArea #HiddenGemsRestaurant #Brunch #WeekendPlans #DateNightSpot #WeekendFoodHunting #InstagrammableBrunchSpots #FoodExploration

馃嵄The most viral Unagi Shop in San Francisco! Is it worthy?

馃嵄Unagi Shop 馃搷704 Post St, San Francisco, CA 94109 鈻笍This shop, which opened in January, has only been open for a little over a month due to intermittent renovations. It seems that not many people know about it yet, so hurry up and come try it before it gets crowded and you can't get a seat馃槀 鈻笍According to the owners, they previously only had set menus, but now they have added 脿 la carte options, which can be ordered directly on TOCK or Yelp. We chose the $125 set, which included a total of 10 dishes, all related to unagi (freshwater eel), including desserts. 鈻笍Overall, it is worth a try! The unagi liver toast is really good! The chawanmushi (egg custard) made with unagi broth is also very flavorful, love it! The various cuts of unagi, all grilled to order, are served with a reminder to be careful of the heat, and they are indeed very hot. I got burned two or three times because I was too eager to eat馃槀 鈻笍Finally, the super hearty and large portion of unagi rice bowl was just amazing, but I had to end up taking the leftovers home because it was too much... It paired well with the refreshing unagi broth, not oily or greasy. 鈻笍As for dessert, they also gave us a portion of Shizuoka melon. Satisfying~ 馃挌The service was very good. The waitress even brought us a glass of yuzu sake and the final dessert included Hong Kong-style milk tea pudding, along with the Shizuoka melon. During the meal, she also kept telling us that if something didn't taste good, they could adjust it to our liking, including the unagi liver in the middle, which she mentioned because some people don't like it, and if we also didn't like it, she could replace it with something else. She also offered to add more sauce for the unagi rice bowl if we wanted. 馃АIn short, the service was excellent from beginning to end, very friendly and attentive. However, the service charge was automatically included in the final bill without giving us a choice. Our total was around $270, with a service charge of $60, in addition to taxes and the SF Mandate, all of which were added directly. Although the set menu was $125, with all these miscellaneous charges, it came out to be approximately $180 per person. #GlobalFoodieSquad #FoodieLife #BayAreaCuisine #BayAreaLife #MyFoodDiary #HotMealsEveryday #DinnerTonight #DailySnapshotsPLOG #HiddenGemsRestaurant #UnderratedEateries #EverySecondWorthRecording #WhereToGoInBayAreaOnWeekends #BayAreaFoodExplore #GreatPlacesToVisitOnWeekends #RomanticLifeChronicles
