Shorthanded Hawks dominate Lakers 122–102
What a statement game for the Atlanta Hawks, and some major questions arise now for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Hawks, missing five of their top eight players (including Trae Young, Kristaps Porziņģis, and Nickeil Alexander‑Walker), still turned up the volume.
Mouhamed Gueye exploded for 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists, his best night yet.
Balanced scoring all over: rookie Asa Newell dropped 17, Zaccharie Risacher added 19, and the Hawks just out-played LA in every phase.
The Lakers fell back to earth: sloppy turnovers, uninspired defense, and now they head into a long road trip trying to figure this out.
This isn’t just a nice win for Atlanta. It shows they’re deeper than many expected.
And for the Lakers? This isn't the best start of their 5 straight away games.
