Bay Area Food | A festive Chinese New Year celebration 🧧 Let's eat Peking duck together

🦆 YH Beijing 颐和北京 📍 500 Haight St, San Francisco, CA 94117 ▫️ We made a dinner gathering with friends on the first day of the Lunar New Year and chose this American-style Chinese restaurant mainly for the Peking duck! It's necessary to make a reservation for the duck in advance, and they usually serve it three ways: roasted duck, duck bone soup, and minced duck lettuce wraps. The portion size is quite good! ▫️ Since our dining companions are from different countries, we opted for a fusion restaurant where the Peking duck is especially good! The other dishes have more of an American-Chinese taste, like this spicy tofu 🤣 it almost seems like a joke; the walnut shrimp is also very good! The shrimp is super large! The other dishes are not bad, just don't judge them based on authentic Chinese standards. ▫️ Their various kinds of xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) are pretty good. We ordered the crab meat, spicy, and black truffle ones, and they tasted decent! Nothing outstanding, but still tasty. The spicy one is only slightly spicy, so even those who can't handle spice can safely enjoy it; the black truffle flavor is very faint; the crab meat one was my favorite. If you're a small group, they have a platter with different flavors that you can order. ▫️ Finally, it's the Year of the Rabbit! We also ordered steamed buns in the shape of rabbits. These bunny buns are really chubby 🤣🤣🤣 chubby bunnies 🐰 Wishing everyone a prosperous Year of the Rabbit! 🧧 🧧 The restaurant's Chinese New Year ambiance is truly amazing! Various hanging decorations, small ornaments, and you instantly feel like you're in the Lunar New Year! Such a festive atmosphere, love it! The restaurant was packed that night, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. #GlobalFoodieTeam #FoodDiaries #PekingDuck #MyFoodJournal #Tonight'sDinner #DateNightRestaurant #HiddenGemRestaurant #WeekendFoodAdventure #MyFoodSecrets #BayAreaFood #BayAreaLiving #ChineseNewYear #OverseasLiving

Guy Fieri Burgers: My Flaming Kitchen Confession

I thought I could handle the heat—literally. Armed with Guy Fieri’s burger recipe and a wild optimism, I cranked up the stove, slapped on too much donkey sauce, and watched as my kitchen transformed into Flavortown...and then a smokehouse. The patties sizzled, then spat, then blackened. The cheese oozed like lava, dripping onto the pan and sending up plumes that set off my smoke alarm (and my neighbor’s). My buns? Toasted—on one side, raw on the other. But that first messy bite? The tangy sauce, the charred beef, the crunch of pickles—pure, greasy redemption. I may never get the smell out of my curtains, but for one glorious, drippy moment, I tasted victory (and a little bit of panic). #KitchenFails #GuiltyPleasure #FoodDiaries #Food #Foodie

Today’s Lunch: A Love-Hate Relationship

Lunch today was... an experience. I stared at my meal, equal parts hungry and skeptical. On one side: a sad, wilted salad (thanks, meal prep from three days ago). On the other: microwaved leftovers that smelled vaguely like hope and regret. Honestly, I envy people who post those perfect bento boxes or rainbow smoothie bowls. My reality? A fork, a questionable protein, and the eternal question: will this give me energy or just existential dread? But hey, food is food. I ate it, scrolled through food pics for inspiration, and promised myself tomorrow’s lunch will be better. (Spoiler: it probably won’t.) Anyone else have a complicated relationship with their lunch? Or is it just me vs. the fridge, round 57? #LunchStruggles #RelatableEats #FoodDiaries #Food #Foodie
