Why do Americans hate carp so much? 🐟

This drives me crazy! Americans call carp "trash fish" and just waste them, but literally the rest of the world sees them as valuable food. They were brought here TO BE FOOD originally! People claim they have a "mud vein" - it's not even a vein! It's just slow-twitch muscle fiber like dark meat in chicken. Just fillet it off if you don't like it. Americans say carp are inedible filter feeders. Wrong on both counts! They eat crayfish, worms, minnows - not filter feeding. And if the whole world eats them, how can they not be edible?
