My Dad’s Voice Calling Me

My dad passed away suddenly in 2019. No signs, no long illness—just gone. For months afterward I kept expecting to see him walk through the door or hear him humming in the kitchen the way he always did. One night, about two months after he died, I was doing laundry in the hallway and heard someone call my name from my bedroom. It was exactly my dad’s voice. Not similar, not close—his voice. Same tone, same rhythm. It was so normal-sounding that I actually answered, “Yeah?” without thinking. And then I froze. There was no one in the room. No TV on. No open windows. No possible source. I didn’t tell anyone for a few days because I genuinely thought I was losing it. But when I finally mentioned it to my mom, she went quiet. Then she told me she had heard him say her name in the kitchen a few nights earlier. We’re not the type to jump to supernatural explanations. But there was something so calm, so normal about the sound—like he was still around, just doing what he always did: checking on us. Even if it was just our minds trying to comfort us… I’m glad it happened. #DidThatHappen

The Thing That Sat on My Bed

I used to rent a tiny room in an old house that had been converted into shared student housing. The house wasn’t “haunted” in any obvious way—no weird history, no creepy basement stories. It was just old and drafty. One night around 2 a.m., I woke up because I felt someone sit on the edge of my bed. Not a tap, not the sheets shifting—an actual full weight, like a person lowering themselves down. I thought it was my roommate messing around, but the door was still closed, and she would never enter without knocking. I stayed completely still because I honestly thought maybe I was half-asleep and imagining things. But then… the weight shifted, like someone adjusting their position. That was the moment I fully woke up. I turned on my bedside lamp as fast as I could, and the pressure lifted instantly. Nobody was there. The room was silent. I tried to rationalize it—sleep paralysis, a dream, whatever. But here’s what still bothers me: The next morning my downstairs neighbor asked me if I’d been pacing in my room late at night. She swore she heard footsteps back and forth in my room around the same time I had the experience. And I don’t pace in my sleep. #DidThatHappen

The creepiest story in my haunted house

It was the fourth of July in 2016. I was fifteen at the time. My parents went out for the night to have a drink, and my younger brother (Who was thirteen at the time) was off doing something else, so I was home alone with my black labrador, Maeby. Maeby hated loud noises, and fireworks were the worst. I remember a while after the fireworks had ended, Maeby was still panting and shaking. I was next to her, trying to calm her down, when she suddenly stopped freaking out. Her head shot up, her ears went up, and she was completely still. I was confused, but stayed still as well, listening to what could have triggered her. I didn't hear any voices or a door slam, my parents couldn't have been home. Then, I heard something. It was faint, but I listened. It was coming from upstairs. It sounded like one of those lullaby sound effects that came from a baby's crib mobile. It made absolutely no sense, because my brother and I were the only kids living in the house. Slowly, I got up, and began walking to the stairs. The sound was still going on, but it was still quiet, so I walked slowly. I made my way up the steps, Maeby not far behind me. As I got upstairs, the sound was becoming more faint. When I walked down a hallway, leading to my Brother's room, the noise was gone. I am 24 now, and am still a believer in the paranormal. I had a few other encounters in that house after that, but this one truly got me thinking there could have been a ghost in that house. #DidThatHappen #WeirdFinds

ghost in my room?

so im hiding under my covers as i write this because i am so unnerved right now. okay so, my bed is opposite to my desk. i had two hair ties in my hand and i set them down on the bed, turned around, and turned back to see they werent there anymore. i thought i had forgotten placing them somewhere else so i searched for a while around the bed and the rest of the room before giving up. i was taking some stuff off of my bed to put back onto my desk and when i was putting up my journal i heard the small sound of something falling and saw the hair ties suddenly next to my feet. they were not on the desk i know that for a fact because i searched there and my desk is pretty clear so i wouldve seen them. i have a long sleeved sweater on with big sleeves so i wanted to blame it on that thinking maybe they somehow fell in the sleeve or clung onto the sweater and i somehow missed them but the sweater doesnt have that kind of clingy fabric + i wouldve felt if they were in my sleeve. im trying to convince myself im overthinking it but ive always been kinda paranoid about someone watching me in my room and ive been having a lot of trouble with anxiety the past three months, this month especially has been bad so i really didnt need this on top of it. im posting this in hopes that maybe someone else can offer up a theory or at least help me deal with it. #DidThatHappen #WeirdFinds

Something rode in the car with us and we were too scared to say anything.

This happened back in 2012-2013 I think, when I was about 13 years old. I’ve never talked about it with anyone except for my dad who was there with me. Years later I get goosebumps thinking about it and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar. After visiting a friend’s house for a couple hours my dad had come by to pick me up. It was in the evening and had just gotten dark. My mom was waiting for us to get home so we could all eat dinner. After picking me up, my dad had to drive about 15 minutes on a long, winding dark road surrounded by nothing but forest. To give some context, we lived on a nearby military base at the time and this road was attached to the back entrance of the base which wasn’t used very much. However my dad liked using this entrance because it was closer to our house and it would’ve taken us a lot longer to get home if we drove all the way to the main entrance on the other side of the base. My dad picked me up from my friend’s and we start driving home. I’m in the passenger seat. We’re talking about random things - school, my sister, what mom might’ve made for dinner. We’re driving up the long road and it is very, very dark. There aren’t any other cars on the road. All you can see when you look out the window are the trees and lots of shadows. My dad and I had been talking to each other but after a couple of minutes it seemed as if our conversation slowly faded out. I remember sitting there in my seat and feeling cold all of a sudden. Which was strange because the heat was on in the car. Gradually I started to feel a weird sensation on the back of my head, as if I was being watched. I stayed still and silent, keeping my eyes on the road in front of me. I saw my dad out of the corner of my eye doing the same. I figured he was probably just focused on the road and not thinking about anything in particular. The car we were driving in was a mini van with two rows of seats behind us. For some weird reason, I began to feel a very strong impulse to not look behind me and like something was in the very back row of the car. And if I didn’t say anything or acknowledge it, there wouldn’t be a problem. I think two minutes went by (felt like longer) until I saw we were approaching the back gate of the military base with all of its bright lights. We checked in at the gate and drove to our house. We pulled into the driveway and while the weird feeling of something in the backseat had gone away, what I thought was strange was that neither my dad or I made a move to get out of the car once he parked and turned the car off. We also still hadn’t talked in a couple of minutes. Okay, I thought, maybe he’s just being slow getting out. But he didn’t budge after a couple seconds. I turned and looked at him, wondering what was up. And interestingly he was already looking at me with a funny expression on his face. “What?” I asked him. He shook his head and kind of gestured towards the back of the van before saying “When we were driving home, did you feel something weird? Like someone was in the back of the car?” I got instant goosebumps and said yes. I told him I had felt it and didn’t want to say anything about it while it was happening. I remember he laughed kind of nervously and said he hadn’t wanted to say anything either or even look at the rear view mirror. He said he kept his eyes on the road and didn’t look back. I don’t know how to explain it, what it was, or why we both felt the same thing at the same time, but that will definitely stick with me forever. #DidThatHappen

I think my dog is haunting me

My 14‑year‑old dog passed away suddenly on Thursday night. I raised him from a puppy and he was truly my shadow — my best friend. His passing was unexpected and traumatic, especially because he died here at my parents’ house, where we’ve spent so much time together. The house feels different now. The energy shifted instantly — like a constant background hum just disappeared. But something strange has been happening. Last night, I thought I saw movement beside my bed, exactly where he used to stand for goodnight pets. I blamed it on crying so much… until my mom told me she’s been seeing movement in the hallway all day — the exact path he would take to my room. Then my dad, without knowing any of this, said he felt a sudden cold gust right where my dog used to lie beside him during dinner. We all experienced something, separately. I’ve seen spirits before, and I genuinely believe pets can linger when they pass suddenly. Honestly, I hope it is him. These past two days have been the worst of my life, and if he wants to stay by my side a little longer the way he always did… I’d love that more than anything.‘ #DidThatHappen #WeirdFinds

I Didn’t Expect to See Anything… But Here We Are.

I honestly feel a little shaken writing this. My mom has told me for years about the house she grew up in — how things would fall for no reason, how she always felt watched, how one time she saw a handprint appear on the shower curtain when she was completely alone. I always kind of brushed it off as childhood imagination mixed with a creepy old house. But today I finally asked her for the address, just out of curiosity. I looked it up… and I swear there’s something in the window of the picture online. I stared at it for way too long trying to rationalize it — reflection, shadow, bad resolution — but it doesn’t entirely feel like any of those. I don’t jump to ghosts or paranormal stuff. I’m usually the “there’s a logical explanation” person. But seeing that image, knowing the stories she told me, made it all feel suddenly real in a way I wasn’t prepared for. I don’t know what I’m looking at, but I know it made my chest tighten a little. Maybe it's nothing. Maybe it's just my brain connecting dots because I already know the house’s history. But I wasn’t expecting to feel… unsettled like this. It’s strange when a family story stops being just a story and becomes something you can actually see with your own eyes. #WeirdFinds #DidThatHappen #UnexpectedResults
