Salman Rushdie Drops Out of Graduation

Salman Rushdie just pulled out as the commencement speaker at Claremont McKenna College after student protests over his controversial past. The author of The Satanic Verses, who’s faced threats for decades, decided to skip the event just days before graduation. The college says it was his call, but they’re leaving the door open for him to visit in the future.
