Hitting up Cafe 4• Having a Gibraltar at the Sacred Church 👀
3Crosses Church is a landmark in Castro Valley! I always see its huge cross from the highway, and today is my first time up close. Found out it's not just a church, but also has a gym, a school, and a café - it's a great space for chillin' in a beautiful and peaceful environment.
The little café in the church, Cafe 4, is pretty good. On the menu is a not-so-common name "Gibraltar". Googled it and directly translated, it's "Gibraltar". At first, I thought it's coffee from Gibraltar itself 🤣! When I got my coffee, it looked a bit like an Espresso in such a small cup! Found out that it's actually pretty significant, originally created by the famous Blue Bottle Coffee and named after the Libbey Gibraltar glass cup, with 2 shots of Espresso + 2 Oz Milk. Taste lies between a Latte and a Macchiato - bitter, rich, and aromatic. High in caffeine, so it's super refreshing. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot, best paired with sweet bread to balance the bitterness!
