Chasing Fuji, Missing the Moment

I spent half the day staring at train schedules and weather apps, hoping the clouds would clear. When Mt Fuji finally showed up—just for a minute—I snapped a photo like everyone else. But standing there, camera in hand, I realized I’d been more obsessed with getting an ‘unobstructed view’ than actually seeing anything. The mountain was real, but I felt distant, like I was collecting proof instead of memories. Sometimes, travel is just you, your expectations, and a view that doesn’t care if you’re ready.
